Acute Cervical Spine Injury among children. Short presentation of case reports and review of most common types of such injuries

Abstract

The injury of cervical spine triggers physicians for right
diagnosis and prompt therapy. In regards with pediatric
patients, the knowledge of cervical spine’s normal
development and anatomy is crucial for radiologists in
order to avoid mistaking normal variants for fractures
in the setting of trauma.

Η κάκωση της ΑΜΣΣ αποτελεί πρόκληση για
τους θεράποντες ιατρούς αναφορικά με την ορ-
θή διάγνωση και την έγκαιρη αντιμετώπισή της.
Ειδικά στον παιδιατρικό πληθυσμό, η γνώση
της ανατομίας και των πιθανών φυσιολογικών
παραλλαγών της περιοχής είναι απαραίτητες προ-
ϋποθέσεις για τον ακτινοδιαγνώστη προκειμένου
να γίνει σωστή ερμηνεία των απεικονιστικών
ευρημάτων.
